This Privacy Policy describes how Advantage Solutions and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively “Affiliates,” and together with Advantage Solutions, “Advantage” or “we,” “our” or “us”) collect and use your Personal Information if you visit any of our Careers websites (including https://careers.advantagesolutions.net/) (“Site” or “Sites”) and/or apply, or are recruited by us, for employment, including candidates for contractor roles (hereafter, collectively “job,” and/or “job application”). It continues to apply if you have accepted a conditional job offer while we conduct any background checks and other verifications. For the purposes of this policy, we refer to the entire recruitment, application, evaluation, and verification process as the “Job Application Process.” This policy applies regardless of the means you use to communicate or interact with us and covers our online and offline privacy practices related to the Job Application Process. It applies exclusively to our privacy practices but not to the collection and use of your Personal Information by third parties (unless otherwise stated) you may interact with in the course of visiting our Sites or during the Job Application Process.
To the extent we provide you different or additional privacy policies or notices (e.g., at the point of collection of Personal Information), the terms of those additional policies and notices shall govern such data collection and use. In addition, please review our Terms of Use which governs your use of the Sites and other services provided by us. Any capitalized terms used in this document shall have the same meaning as in our general Privacy Policy. 1. Use of Our Sites and of the Job Application Process
We are committed to collecting and using Personal Information only for legitimate and disclosed purposes. If we use Personal Information for purposes other than originally disclosed, we will give you additional notice unless the use is reasonably compatible with the originally disclosed purpose.
You are not required to provide us with your Personal Information, however without access to your Personal Information we may not be able to evaluate or select you for a role as an employee or contractor. Please note however, that some forms of collection of your Personal Information occurs automatically, for example when we collect your IP address while you are browsing our Site.
2. What Information Do We Collect and Why Do We Collect It?
When you are visiting any of the Sites or interacting with us in the context of a job application, we may collect Personal Information about you belonging to any of the following categories for the commercial and business purposes outlined in this section.
2.1 Identifying Information
Identifying Information includes first name, last name, mailing address, date of birth, contact e-mail, and phone numbers. We use this information to identify you throughout the Job Application Process, create a job candidate and/or new hire profile and communicate with you, including by direct mail, about opportunities and the progress of any job application you may submit.
This category also includes device identifiers such as your IP address, UDID or other unique identifiers, such as your MAC Address. A device identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer, smartphone or any other device(s) you use to visit our Sites or to communicate with us otherwise in the context of applying for a job (“Device(s)”). and our computers identify your device by its device identifier. We use this information to calculate web site usage levels, diagnosing server problems and for administering the Sites.
2.2 Sensitive Personal Information
Sensitive Personal Information includes Social Security Number, username and password, passport information, government ID (e.g., drivers license) information, information about your racial or ethnic origin, and Personal Information collected and analyzed concerning your health. We use this information to identify you, verify that you meet specific job requirements or company policies or meet compliance obligations, for example when setting up your payroll and benefits account and/or to verify your eligibility to work legally in the United States.
2.3 Other Protected Characteristics
Sensitive Demographic Information. We may collect information about your gender (expression), citizenship, visa status, nationality, race, ethnic background, medical or health information, pregnancy, childbirth, breast feeding, sexual orientation, disability status or veteran status (collectively, “Sensitive Demographic Information”). We collect Sensitive Demographic Information to meet legal compliance and reporting obligations and/or to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
2.4 Internet or Electronic Network Activity Information
We collect information about your browsing history and related information such as the areas within our Sites you visit and your activities there, including remembering you and your preferences, and the URL that referred you to our Sites.
We also collect information about the computer, smartphone or any other device(s) you use to visit our Sites or to communicate with us otherwise in the context of applying for a job (“Device(s)”). This includes information about the type and functionality of your Device(s) (including browser, operating system, hardware, mobile network information), your device location, and time stamps.
We collect that information to maintain the Site and provide its functionalities, including for technical support, to improve our Site and the effectiveness of our operations, to ensure that we can interact with you safely, improve our understanding of your interests and preferences, and enable you to use the features of our Sites. We also use this information to protect the security and integrity of our Sites, our systems and operations.
2.5 Geolocation Information
We may be able to determine your approximate location based on your IP address. We may use this information to provide you with relevant job listings based on your approximate location.
2.6 Professional and Employment Related Information
We collect information about your employment history, résumé or CV, cover letter, previous or relevant work experience, other experience, or other information you provide us in support of a job application, information related to any professional qualifications and achievements, such as certifications and professional licenses, information relating to the type of employment you may be looking for, desired salary and other terms relating to compensation and benefit packages, willingness to relocate, references, and recommendations, as well as information on LinkedIn and other social media platforms to the extent relevant for your job application or our recruitment efforts.
We also collect your Personal Information contained in any assessments, phone screenings interview notes and other information generated in the course of your job application process.
We use this information together with your Education Information to evaluate and assess your eligibility and qualifications for a job, including to conduct background and reference checks, in accordance with and as permitted by law.
2.7 Education Information
We collect information about your educational background, including educational institutions you attended, degrees and diplomas achieved, grade and graduation date information, as well as any transcripts and copies of diplomas you may provide. We use this information together with your Professional and Employment Related Information to evaluate and assess your eligibility and qualifications for a job.
2.8 Inferences Drawn from Your Personal Information
We may draft inferences from your Personal Information collected as described in Section 2.4.
3. Additional Business and Commercial Purposes For Collecting Your Information
In addition to the purposes identified in Section 2, we collect and use your Personal Information for the following commercial and business purposes:
- To maintain the Sites and to ensure the functionality of its features and our recruitment operations, including for technical support, and to improve our Sites, systems and operations.
- Sending you information about employment opportunities, including through direct mail offerings;
- For internal business purposes, including for analytics on application rates, effectiveness of marketing efforts, and other similar metrics and information;
- For fraud, loss, and other crime prevention purposes, to assist in the investigation of suspected illegal or wrongful activity, and to protect and defend our rights and property, or the rights or safety of third parties;
- To enforce our Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, or agreements with third parties;
- To offer you enhanced functionality when accessing the Site, including identifying you when you sign into our Site and keeping track of your specified preferences.
- To comply with laws, regulations, regulators, court orders, or other legal obligations, or pursuant to legal process; and,
For such other purposes as you consent or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
4. Sources of Personal Information
4.1 Directly Obtained
We collect information directly from you while you interact with the Sites and/or complete a job application and while we interact with you until the completion of the application process, when you actively provide Identifying Information, Sensitive Information, Sensitive Demographic Information, Professional and Employment Related Information, and Educational Information.
4.2 Passive Information Collection
We collect Internet or Electronic Network Activity Information and Geolocation Information from your Device(s) while you are interacting with our Sites and/or otherwise using your Device(s). We use a variety of technologies to collect and store Personal Information as you navigate our Sites. Those include cookies, pixel tags, local storage, such as browser web storage and other techniques described in more detail under the heading “Cookies and Tracking Technologies.” We use those technologies to collect Identifying Information, Internet or Electronic Network Activity Information and Inferences drawn from those categories of Personal Information.
4.3 Obtained from Third Parties
We obtain Personal Information collected about you from various categories of third-party sources:
(a) Third parties to whom you have actively disclosed your Personal Information.
This includes a broad range of sources, such as job boards, former employers, parties identified by you as references, staffing and talent solutions providers, internet career platforms and social media platforms. We use those categories of third parties to collect Identifying Information, Sensitive Information and Sensitive Demographic Information, Professional and Employment Related Information, and Education Information.
(b) Third parties otherwise collecting Personal Information about you.
Businesses and organizations of any number and description collect Personal Information about you. Many of them are outside California or even the United States and, as part of their business, offer to make available Personal Information of individuals to other parties.
Those include, for example, social media, web analytics, cloud services, and marketing providers (including targeted digital advertising and direct e-mail marketing) as well as data brokers and cyber security companies or affiliate companies. They can also include entities providing recruitment-specific services, such as background-check and accreditation services providers. We collect Personal Information belonging to the categories of Professional and Employment Related Information, Education Information, and Internet or Electronic Network Activity Information from these third parties. Most of the collection of this type of Personal Information occurs routinely and incidental to the use of our Sites and systems by any consumer or visitor. For employment-specific collection of your Personal Information we only use reputable counterparties who give use reasonable assurances that their collection of data is lawful and that they have adequate cybersecurity measures in place.
5. Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We use various methods and technologies to store or collect information as to how you use and interact with the Sites and how you use the Job Application Process (“Tracking Technologies”). Tracking Technologies may set, change, alter or modify settings or configurations on your Device. More Information about the Tracking Technologies we use and your options to control or opt-out of certain data collection or uses related to Tracking Technologies can be found in our general Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.
6. How Long we Keep your Personal Information
We retain your Personal Information as long as necessary to accomplish the purposes for which the information was collected and/or to meet legal obligations or to protect our interests and the rights of third parties. We retain your information for various reasons, including, without limitation, in case we face a legal challenge in respect of a recruitment decision, and to help us better understand, analyze and improve our recruitment process.
7. Access to and Sharing of Personal Information
7.1 Access to Personal Information by Advantage Employees and Affiliates
We restrict the collection of and the access to your Personal Information to those employees who need to access such information to carry out their assigned job responsibilities. Subject to applicable law, we may share your Personal Information with our Affiliates to the extent reasonably necessary to accomplish specified lawful objectives.
7.2 Access to Personal Information by Third Parties
We do not disclose your Personal Information to parties outside Advantage except as described in this policy:
(a) When You Request Information from Third Parties
You may be presented with an option to have us send certain information to third parties or give them access to it for the purpose of providing information to you. If you choose to do so, certain of your Identifying Personal Information and/or Professional and Employment Related Information may be disclosed to such third parties, and the disclosed information will also be subject to the privacy policies and practices of those third parties. In addition, third parties may store, collect or otherwise have access to your information when you interact with their Tracking Technologies, content, tools, apps, or ads on our Sites or link to them from our Sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of such third parties; therefore, you should review carefully the privacy policies and practices of such third parties prior to requesting information from or otherwise interacting with them.
(b) Third Parties Providing Services.
We may use third-party service providers or contractors to perform certain services, such as (i) assisting with the Site operations or the Job Application Process, (ii) hosting the Site, (iii) designing and/or operating the Site’s features, (iv) tracking the Site’s activities and analytics, and (v) to perform other administrative services. In order to accomplish those business purposes, we may provide those service providers or contractors with access to your Personal Information belonging to the following categories: Identifying Information, Internet and Electronic Network Activity Information, Professional and Employment Related Information, and Educational Information to carry out the services they are performing. In all instances the disclosure Personal Information is either occurring at the request of the individual whose Personal Information is affected or pursuant to a written agreement limiting the use of the disclosed information to what is reasonably necessary to perform the objective of the agreement.
(c) To Protect the Rights of Advantage and Others
We may share personal information with governmental authorities when legally required to do so, and to cooperate with such authorities investigating claims of illegal activity such as (but not limited to) illegal transfer of copyrighted material, or user website postings or email messages that contain threats of violence. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we may also disclose your information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary or appropriate to: (i) protect or defend the rights, safety or property of Advantage or third parties (including through the enforcement of this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, and other applicable agreements and policies); (ii) comply with legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., pursuant to law enforcement inquiries, subpoenas or court orders); or (iii) in other cases where we have reason to believe that disclosure is necessary to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use.
(d) Business Transfers
We also reserve the right to disclose and transfer all such information: (i) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of the Sites, Job Application Process, or applicable database; or (ii) in connection with a merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of substantially all of our interests and/or assets or other corporate change, including during the course of any due diligence process.
8. Your Rights and Choices About the Information We Collect

- Change of Information by Applicants
Job applicants may update or change or remove the information they provided when creating their applicant profile by logging into their account or requesting access to their profile and making the desired changes. This may include their contact information, their job preferences or other relevant information. Depending on the scope of the changes, we may have to delay the evaluation of an applicant for a given job, or may require the applicant to re-apply. We will not be able to complete the hiring process if information that we may want or need to use to evaluate an applicant for a specific role or employment with us in general is removed as a result of such a change.
- Rights to Access, Modify and Delete your Data Provided by Local Law
Individuals in certain jurisdictions have certain rights under applicable data protection law, such as the rights available to California residents described in Section 9 below. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, modification or correction of, or deletion of certain of your personal information that we maintain, and how that information has been used or disclosed.
To exercise your rights, you may contact us using the contact information listed in Section 10 below. As permitted by law, certain data elements may not be subject to access, modification, correction, and/or deletion. Furthermore, where permissible, we may charge for this service. We will respond to reasonable requests as soon as practicable and as required by law. To protect your privacy and security, we may take steps to verify your identity in order to respond to your request.
9. Your California Privacy Rights
This section applies only to California residents, as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) as amended, among others, by the and California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”), hereafter, the “California Privacy Laws”.
9.1 California Privacy Law Disclosures
In addition to the information provided elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, we make the following disclosures to comply with the California Privacy Laws:
(a) Categories of Personal Information Collected and Purposes of Collection
In the last 12 months, we collected the categories of Personal Information described in Section 2 for the commercial and business purposes outlined in that Section and in Section 3 (“Additional Purposes”) above.
(b) Sources of Personal Information Collected
The sources of Personal Information we collected are outlined in the Sources of Personal Information section above.
(c) Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We disclosed the following categories of Personal Information for a business purpose in the last 12 months: Identifying Information, Sensitive Personal Information, Other Protected Characteristics, Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information; Professional and Employment Related Information, and Education Information. We disclose these categories only as described in the Access to and Sharing of Personal Information section above.
(d) Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not “sell” or “share” Personal Information of known minors under 16 years of age.
9.2 Your Rights Under the California Privacy Laws
If you are a California resident, subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:
(a) Right to Know
You have the right to request, up to two times each year, the categories and/or specific pieces of Personal Information about you that we collect, use, disclose and sell/share, as applicable, and subject to applicable legal exceptions.
(b) Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete Personal Information that we collect from you, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
(c) Right to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information
You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate Personal Information that we hold on you, subject to certain exceptions.
(d) Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information
You have the right to request that we limit certain forms of use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information, as that term is defined in the California Privacy Laws. To the extent we collect your Sensitive Personal Information, we only use your Sensitive Personal Information only in ways an average consumer would consider such necessary to operate the Job Application Process and our Sites. At the present time, our use of Sensitive Personal Information is such that you do not have a right to direct us to ‘limit the use and disclosure’ of such information.
(e) Right to Non-discrimination.
You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of your rights under California Privacy Laws.
(f) Right to Opt Out of the “Sale” and/or “Sharing” of Personal Information.
You have the right to opt out of the “sale” and/or “sharing” of your Personal Information to “third parties,” as those terms are defined in the California Privacy Laws.
10. How to Exercise Your California Privacy Rights
You can submit a request for the rights above through our PRIVACY PORTAL (click the link to access) or by calling us, toll free, at 1-888-651-2032.
We are required to verify your request before we can give you access to, allow for the correction of, or delete your Personal Information. We will verify your identity by matching information you provide with your request with information in our systems; and, for requests submitted through our Privacy Portal, by requiring you to respond to an automated email to verify your email address to ensure that you have continuing access to the email account you used in conjunction with your privacy request.
In general, we will ask you to provide the following information in connection with your request: first and last name, email address, state and country of residence, and the nature of your relationship with Advantage and information likely only know to you based on your transactional history with us. We may also request additional documentation or information solely for the purpose of verifying your identity. If we are unable to verify your request with the requisite degree of certainty, we are legally prohibited from acting on your request. We will acknowledge your request within ten days after receiving it and, if we are able to verify your request, we will respond to your request within 45 days. If we need more time to complete your request, we will inform you about the reason and our estimate as to the additional time needed to complete your request.
You may also authorize someone else to exercise these rights on your behalf. When a third party submits a request on your behalf, they must indicate in our Privacy Portal or on the phone that they are an authorized agent, and supply us with evidence of such authorization; we will not fulfill any request submitted by a third party related to your Personal Information until we have received confirmation that you authorized such third party to submit a request on your behalf.
Please note that your exercise of these rights is subject to certain exemptions and exclusions, and your requests may be granted in whole, in part, or not at all, depending on the scope and nature of the request and applicable law. Where required by applicable law, we will notify you if we reject any part of your request and the reason(s) we are unable to honor it.
11. Disclosure of Information for Marketing Use – Shine the Light Act
California residents also have the right under the Shine the Light Act to request and receive certain information about the disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their own direct marketing use, and options with respect to such disclosures. Because we, as it relates to the Sites and the Job Application Process, do not share your Personal Information with third parties for their direct marketing use without your consent, these requirements are not applicable.
12. Information From Children Under 13 Years of Age
We recognize the importance of children’s safety and privacy. Our Sites and Job Application Process are not designed to attract children and are not intended for use by any children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly request or collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. We are a general audience Site and do not use the Site to collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13 years of age, you are not permitted to use the Site or submit a job application and should not send any information about yourself to us through the Site.
In the event that we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under the age of 13, we will take steps to dispose of that information as permitted by law and in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and other applicable laws and regulations. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, please contact us atusing the contact information provided in Section 17 below.
13. Visitors to the Site from Outside of the United States
Our Site and Job Application Process is operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States and Canada only. If you are located outside of the United States, please be advised that all of the information we collect, including Personal Information, will be transferred to, and processed, stored and used in the United States, and that this is necessary to provide you with the requested information and services and/or to perform any requested transaction. The data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of the country in which you are located, and your Personal Information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States according to laws of the United States. By using the Site or Job Application Process, you consent to the transfer to, and processing, usage, sharing and storage of your information, including Personal Information, in the United States as set forth in this Privacy Policy. We implement technical and organizational safeguards designed to help protect and secure your Personal Information. We have taken steps to ensure that only our personnel and contractors who are granted access to your Personal Information are those with a business ‘need-to-know’ or whose duties reasonably require such information. Please note, however, no data transmission over the Internet, mobile networks, wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our Site.
