SENIOR COPYWRITER
Amp is looking for an experienced, collaborative, and word-nerd Senior Copywriter to join our growing creative team. You’re an expert at your craft, a conceptual and strategic thinker, and a self-starter. Creating work that cuts through the noise and has an impact is your passion.
Additionally, you’re well-versed in the culture, love a good process, and love guiding your team through a good process even more. You shift between different voices seamlessly, and champion their evolution while knowing where and when to push. You live for the little details, are innately curious, and are always inclined to find solutions to challenges. For this role, you’ll need experience with asset handoff, proofing, and ensuring all copy documents adhere to client specs.
You’ll report to an ACD that everyone loves. This is a fully remote position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Concept and write everything and anything from manifestos to banner ads for all the mediums you know, and some new ones too
- Crack briefs by unearthing strategic insights and working with your teams to convert them into compelling creative
- Take ownership of your work from concept to delivery, including researching, brainstorming, drafting, and revising copy, while maintaining a core message along the way—and guiding junior and mid-level writers to do the same
- Collaborate with partners in design, strategy, social, media, development and more to deliver outstanding creative on time, every time
- Partner with senior creative leads to ensure work is the best it can be
- Build a trusting rapport with clients by helping to develop decks and present your work
- Present a strategic point of view behind copy decisions, while remaining flexible and open to workshopping internally and with clients
- View challenges and roadblocks as opportunities to proactively present solves
- Keep on the pulse of the latest social media content best practices and trends
- Live and breathe grammar, especially the order of superscript symbols and the difference between an em and en dash
- Know style and brand guidelines like the back of your hand, becoming the go-to source of truth for your teams
- Contribute to new business as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience as a copywriter in an advertising agency or related field
- A strong portfolio of professional and/or speculative creative work is required
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong understanding of brand and identity development including experience with crafting and honing voice and tone guidelines
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable with production process and being on set
- Pharma experience is a plus
