Senior Project Manager

The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to project deadlines and within budget while being well versed in client needs and expectations.  The Senior PM will be the team champion that collaborates and connects across the AUC, pillars include Client and Customer Management, Strategic Services, Creative, Ecomm and Studio.

This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of creative & unified agency team members, and third-party contractors or consultants, in order to deliver projects according to plan.

The Senior Project Manager will need to seek out and identify opportunities to improve workflow.  Ideate solutions, exercising cross-functional collaboration that positively impacts the agency.  The Sr PM will lead all client projects, in partnership with the Account Services.

The Senior Project Manager will also be tasked with assisting in refining internal processes and enforcing adherence to process amongst the agency.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for tracking and reporting project and program finances to internal team members. The Senior Project Manager will also collaborate with the resource manager to plan and allocate appropriate resources to multiple projects.    

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Job Duty

·       Direct and manage project from beginning to end.

o   Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

o   Review full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

o   Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

o   Assign tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

o   Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

o   Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

o   Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

o   Track project milestones and deliverables.

o   Gain approval on projects among the various departments by routing projects.

o   Develop and deliver progress reports and requirements documentation.

o   Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.

o   Effectively communicate project expectations to creative/technology team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

o   Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

o   Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

·       Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with account management and stakeholders.

o   Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary or validate budgets provided.

o   Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

·       Define and manage resource allocation throughout project lifecycle

o   On a weekly basis, allocate creative & technology staff to ensure all work can be completed.

o   Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.

o   Determine and assess need for additional creative & technology staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

o   Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experience

      (Preferred):            Choose an item.  or equivalent experience                     

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years ‘experience in the integrated project management space
  • Experience mentoring more junior Project Managers

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and agency PMO tools
  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool
  • Working knowledge of digital, print, event, tech, and content production (interactive design, HTML, Flash, video, etc)

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
