What does a typical day look like?

Retail merchandisers work at specific stores or drive to multiple stores and even different retail chains within a territory to complete reset and merchandising projects. They follow a Plan-O-Gram, which is like a blueprint for how products should be displayed.

This is a job for people who like working independently, problem solving and finishing their work on schedule and with attention to detail. They build solid relationships with store managers so that they can communicate with them about products, request additional space for promotions and to ensure the brands they represent receive prime retail real estate. The work is different every day, every store has its own needs and unique challenges.

The day belongs to you, with time management and organization you can quickly move from store to store, completing your visits and getting on with the rest of your day.

Are there any requirements?

This role requires no experience, but you’ll need a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to lift between 20-50 lbs., depending on the project assigned. Successful retail merchandisers have plenty of opportunity at Advantage, quickly moving on to training, supervisory and other leadership roles.
